In owners' own words
Was driving down the highway at approximately 65mph headed home. All the sudden truck started making a horrible noise from engine compartment followed by severe vibrations. Fought vehicle to shoulder thru rush hour traffic. Once vehicle came to complete stop engine shut down and will not start. Motor seized up completely. Had vehicle towed to diesel shop. Mechanic said there is catastrophic internal engine failure. Engine
The crank broke while driving on a 70 mph freeway and I almost got hit as I pulled over. The truck was under warranty, so the engine got replaced by Nissan. I suspect the leaking EGR cooler as the cause. Water doesnât compress when ingested into the engine. There was no warning as to this failure. Was completely unexpected. This was a couple years ago, so I doubt the parts would be available for inspection. Engine
