In owners' own words
The contact owns a 2006 Nissan Titan. The contact stated that the rear differential cracked while driving 55 mph and caused differential fluid to leak from the rear driver side tire. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer where the dealer advised that the rear differential needed to be replaced. The vehicle was previously repaired for the same failure but to no avail. The failure mileage was 64,000. Power train · reported at 64,000 miles
Right rear axle seal blew out and leaked differential fluid. Differential fluid leaking on rear brake rotors which could cause brake failure. Also, the rear differential oil will slowly leak and cause the rear differential to lose fluid and fail. As this seemed to be a very common problem with the Nissan Titan, Nissan should address this issue and offer a permanent fix to this safety issue. Power train · reported at 46,326 miles
