In owners' own words
I was driving on a 4 lane major artery on 12 / 30/2025 traveling approximately 50 mph. Heard a loud bang and car loss power and suddenly slowed. Vehicles behind me had to swerve to miss hitting me. The vehicle could move approximately 5 mph afterward. We pulled off the road onto a side road. We later found out the ICCU failed from the Hyundai dealership. It has been there since that date awaiting parts to repair Electrical system
Our *2025* Hyundai Ioniq 5 experienced a complete failure of the ICCU (Integrated Charging Control Unit). The car displayed numerous warnings including "Check brake system", "Check 12V battery. Stop safely and engage parking brake", and "Check parking distance warning system". The car stopped working completely and would not turn on again. A towing company had to be called as the car was completely inoperable. Electrical system
I started the car and got the warning "check electric vehicle system." The car then lost power. It would only go 27mph with the accelerator pedal pushed all the way to the floor. My safety was at risk because my car was not responding appropriately to driver input. The car is at the dealership as it is undriveable in this condition. This is the second incident with this vehicle within 6 months. Electrical system
