In owners' own words
I have been having an issue with what feels like my engine is stalling and about to seize and my temperature gauge rises. There appears to be no issues with any hoses, radiator or coolants as I've recently had an oil change. Despite when ever I travel on the highway this issue occurs. I travel the nj parkway 5 days a week for work and I fear that the car will shutdown and cause a serious accident. Please advise. Engine · reported at 73,500 miles
2016 Jeep Patriot with 38k miles will randomly quit accelerating which causes loss of power, steering control, etc. The red lightning bolt (electronic throttle control) will intermittently come on and flash. Diagnosed at local Jeep dealership who said the throttle body needs replacing at a cost of $1000 and is not covered under any Jeep warranty - whether the basic or the extended that covers emission systems.
