While driving my 2014 Jeep Patriot, the car started losing power while accelerating uphill, it also veered off the road, like it was steering itself. The check engine light and a red lightning bolt appeared on the dashboard. Thankfully I wasn't far from my mechanic and I was able to drive it to my mechanic where it was diagnosed as needing a throttle body. This could be an extremely dangerous situation. My patriot keeps shutting down on and off while driving. It is really unsafe, I did some research and there are multiple complaints since 2014 from other people about the same problem. The steering wheel won't even move when this happened. I believe this is a manufacturing issue and I am reporting it. I had taken my car to the mechanic over and over again and they do not know why this is happening. Engine
Lightning bolt symbol, check engine light and traction control lights came on and vehicle went into limp mode while taking my 3 yr old to pre school. Scans say vacuum leak/throttle body. This is a recurrent problem with these cars and has had recalls on certain ones. Almost didnt make it where i was going. . . Needs to be addresses on this model too. My car only has 76,721 miles.
