After filling fuel tank to full, cranking the ignition, shifting into drive, and beginning propulsion, the engine will occasionally stall. This requires me to stop, shift into park, and restart and rev the engine to prevent it from happening again, which it sometimes does. This malfunction often takes place in high-traffic areas such as intersections or onramps to the freeway. Fuel/propulsion system
Adding fuel to vehicle tank results in fuel gushing out of fuel filler pipe. It appears the fuel tank cannot vent the air in the tank as new fuel is added and this forces newly added fuel back out of the filler pipe. This is a very dangerous and common problem regarding faulty rollover valves on the fuel tank on several Jeep models/years according to online forums .
