The contact owns a 2014 GMC Terrain. The contact stated that soon after receiving an oil change, the oil warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the pcv valve was clogged and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. My engine light came on as I was driving on the highway. Felt like there was slight exhaust smell leaking in the cabin because had a headache driving home and driving to dealership. Also, noticed black oil or wet soot inside my tailpipe after I parked it and checked it. Stanley chevrolet told me that it was a bad timing chain beating against engine causing a gas smell and quoted me over 2 grand to repair. Engine · reported at 109,000 miles
Engine will not hold oil. Causing engine to stall at any given moment while in motion. Vehicle has been diagnosed by dealer and third party auto mechanic. Both have determined piston + piston rings need replaced but a full engine replacement is the preferred repair. Vehicle has less than 119,000 miles.
