Takata recall the door ajar message displays on my 2011 Ford Edge vehicle constantly and the door is shut. The lights stay illuminated because of the door ajar sensor not working properly. Also I can not lock my doors when I am inside the vehicle when the engine is on which is unsafe in my opinion. I have seen that many people have stated this has happened to their Ford as well, but a recall has not been issued. Electrical system · reported at 92,000 miles
The door ajar light stays on and interior door locks will not lock. This is not safe when the vehicle is in motion. Ford needs to issue a recall. I've contacted Ford and they have not provided a response. I have three children under 9 and the doors not locking automatically is a significant safety risk and it has been a know issue for over 4 years and Ford has even issued a service bulletin regarding the problem. On my 2011 Ford Edge limited I am having issues with the door ajar, like many other people apparently. I sometimes have to open and shut my door 20 times until my interior lights turn off so it doesn't drain my battery even more. The locks will not engage when my door is 'open' and the door ajar alert will stay on. This issue is getting worse every time I open the door and is a safety issue. Please recall and fix.
