In owners' own words
The brake booster continues to fail. I replaced this part for the second time 6 months ago, the first time was roughly 9 months before that. The failure of this part causes the brake pedal to drop to the floor making stopping tricky. I have had no accidents, no police report and no warning. No dash lights illuminate indicating a problem as well as no symptoms before the failure. Service brakes
The contact's mother owns a 2014 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while the brake pedal was depressed, the brake pedal was traveling to the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was unaware if there was a diagnostic test performed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000. Service brakes · reported at 68,000 miles
This vehicle has a well-documented problem with the ABS hydraulic control module. There are hundreds of cases found on the internet where the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor. NHTSA appears to have confirmed this problem in the model year 2015 and 2016 vehicles, but not the 2014 or other years. This is an incredibly dangerous defect that must be addressed. Service brakes
