Reading the numbers
Across the 8 model years of the Chevrolet Cruze in this data, 2011 ranks 2nd by complaint volume — 2012 draws the most.
Filings have fallen off, 33 in the last three years against 60 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 57,250 miles.
In owners' own words
Cooling system appears to be leaking and fumes of antifreeze are blowing through hvac system causing some occupants to become nauseous. Dealer attempted to fix but there appears to be an issue with the design of the system. System also leaked on the hot engine causing "steam" to show from under the hood, we thought it was a fire but when the hood was opened it was steam from the antifreeze boiling on the engine. No reimbursement for same issue, same error code. If I'm being told by different body shops that they continually see the same issue with chevy Cruze's, being the loss of turbo boost. Shouldn't it be a part of the recall for 2013&14 or at least be made a recall itself. Mine is a 2011 with the same error code read as the recall with 2013's. My turbo was replaced right before thanksgiving. Happy holidays smh! Engine · reported at 77,150 miles
