In owners' own words

The vehicle displays a "service air bag" label and also a icon associated with the written warning. My 2009 Chevrolet Impala lt is not included in the recall, according to the my vin number. Can you explain why this vehicle is displaying service air bag. This vehicle has not been in any accidents. I have never had a car display such a warning. I am very afraid to drive this vehicle. Air bags
The air bag light stays on. I scanned my vehicle with a obd 2 scanner and no code was displayed. I tried to erase the air bag light but was unsuccessful. O am worried because my mother in law who is 62 years old drives the vehicle . This is definitely a safety issue . I called the 800 number and gave my vin number. Please help me with this this safety issue or air bag recall light problem. Air bags
When starting , it states service air bag, this will then clear but a few days week or month it comes back on [service air bag] it runs fine and has 148000 miles, I see there was a recall because of wire not connecting well.
