Reading the numbers
Across the 9 model years of the Chrysler Concorde in this data, 2001 draws comparatively few complaints; 1994 is the outlier year.
Filings have fallen off, 6 in the last three years against 13 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 65,339 miles.
In owners' own words
I owned a 2001 Chrysler concord. I bought from shawnee mission kia. I had the car for a year. I got my regular maintenance, including an oil change one month before my engine began to go out. My check engine light never came on. I just began to knock one day ( the engine) and about two weeks to a month my engine went out. I could not afford to pay for a new engine and I was forced to send the car back. Engine and engine cooling · reported at 55,000 miles
While driving at any speed engine check light came on and stayed on. Vehicle was taken to the dealer, who removed the engine check light sensor. Vehicle had been to dealer six times for this particular problem. Currently, engine check light would not come on even when the key was in the on position. Consumer felt that this might cause more serious problems in the future. Engine and engine cooling · reported at 23,000 miles
: The contact stated while driving at 40 mph all power to the vehicle diminished and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent service station, where it was determined the timing belt failed and seized the engine which made a repair impossible. The diagnosis was confirmed with a second opinion from another independent service station. Updated 08/02/06. Engine and engine cooling · reported at 106,000 miles
