In owners' own words

Head gasket blew in april of this year. The car was fixed by a local mechanic and Ford did pay for the repairs. In august of this year the same gasket blew again, Ford refuses to repair the car because they said that Ford parts weren't used in the car. Also in 1997 the piston in the transmission tore up the car had 52,000 miles on it. It cost me $950 to have it fixed, Ford refused to pay for that. Engine and engine cooling
Recall # 97v019000 Ford/engine cooling fan: while driving driver noticed smoke coming from under the hood.Driver pulled vehicle over and discovered that the engine cooling was had overheated. Driver unpluged the fan. Owner replaced the engine cooling fan himself. When contacting the manufacturer on oct 6, 1999, manufacturer stated that vehicle was not included in recall due to vin. Serpentine drive belt auto tensioner spring snapped. Caused the steering wheel to lock. Transmission remained in drive, engine remained on. Had to jam on the brake because of no steering capability. When tensioner snapped it released power from power steering, altenator, water pump, a/c condenser, drive train. Car would have been virtually uncontrollable at higher speed.
