Reading the numbers
Across the 8 model years of the Mercedes-Benz E350 in this data, 2013 draws comparatively few complaints; 2006 is the outlier year.
Filings have fallen off, 48 in the last three years against 63 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 46,788 miles.
In owners' own words
Safety recall interim notice about a safety defect for my vehicle was received on march 19, 2019. States a passenger side inflator explosion could occur. At time of notice parts were not available. Despite dire warnings of the possibility of severe injury or death due to the defect, it is now seventeen months later and mercedes still does not have an estimated date of repair or even when parts will be available. Air bags
Open recall without a remedy. This is a daily safety hazard as I am forced to operate my vehicle without a remedy. Being my car is a coupe provides another inconvenience. Even if I place passangervinto back seat, the recall states that any occupant could experience death or serious injury if the air bag deploys. I am uncomfortable driving my vehicle with no solution. This is unacceptable. Air bags
According to takata, in the event of an inflator explosion, metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. This has been going on for a year!!!! Every time I log in to see if the remedy is available it says no. This is a death risk and law suit waiting to happen. Air bags
