Takata recall. The contact owns a 2012 Lincoln MKZ. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 17v024000 (air bags); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. The manufacturer was made of the issue. Takata recall. I have spoken with (SHAY) in the service department at north park Lincoln dealer san antonio texas (210-341-8841) where I had purchased my vehicle 2012. She advised me they have not received airbags for 2 years now and cannot replace my airbag that is under recall based on my vin. Also, advised me that they do not have any information as to a date when I would be able to get the airbag replaced. Air bags
My front passenger air bag light comes on saying it isn't functioning - has happened since I bought the car in 2014, but I never noticed until warranty was over (only happens if someone sits in seat, which is not often). I do not see any recall -and wonder if thisis something I have to have fixed at my own cost as dealer said "too bad". No problems as of yet, but worried a passenger can be hurt badly.
