In owners' own words

Brakes lights have gone out. Hyundai is aware of the problem but I am not aware of any recall. Hyundai issued tsb 09-be-023 technical service bulletin 09-be-023, stop lamp z01 diode inspection procedure, appears to describe the location and procedure for troubleshooting of the diode but describes the issue as " . . . Vehicles may experience the stop lamps blinking on and off even when brakes are not applied." Service brakes
The contact owns a 2009 Hyundai Genesis. While driving at an unknown speed, the brakes failed and the brake pedal sank to the floor. The dealer stated that the inner ball joints and the hydraulic electronic control unit failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. Service brakes · reported at 70,000 miles
The brakes became spongy, increased travel, and lost stopping power. I had to press the pedal all the way to the floor to avoid an accident. I have had the brake fluid replaced, but suspect that this is due to corrosion that already occurred from the faulty brake fluid and abs module. I would appreciate any assistance in convincing Hyundai of this. Service brakes · reported at 76,000 miles
