08 Jeep wrangler 4 door. Every time I fill my gas tank the tank does not shut off in time and gas pours everywhere. It does not matter what gas station I am at and it just started up recently now it does it every time. I have not taken it to the dealer yet but have read up on the problem and it seems as though a lot of people are having the same issues. I plan to take it to the dealer in the next couple days. Fuel overflow when filling up my 2008 Jeep wrangler unlimited 4dr., When at or near full capacity at the gas pump. The gas overflows out onto the side of the Jeep and onto the fender and ground, nearly splashing onto me as I am standing at the fuel filler cap area at the Jeep. This has happened twice in the past two months, november and december 2010 while filling up my 2008 Jeep with gasoline to full level. Fuel system, gasoline · reported at 16,850 miles
Fuel sprays out of gas tank when gas pump auto stop is used. This is a fire danger as the muffler is very near the fuel inlet. Also, I have had fuel sprayed on my body, and if ignited, would have caused severe burns. This occurs about 75% of the time when using pump auto stop. I have since quit using auto stop, and manually stop the fuel pump. I'm taking to dealership for them to attempt a permanent repair. Fuel system, gasoline · reported at 49,000 miles
