In owners' own words
Every time I fill my vehicle up with fuel, at the end of the fill up, fuel comes gushing out of the fuel tank neck, after the pump has performed its auto shutoff. At least 1 - 2 cups of fuel is spilled on the ground every time this occurs. The dealer said that I should idle at the pump for 60-90 seconds before performing a fill up. I have attempted this and it has no effect on the flue gushing out of the tank. Fuel system, gasoline · reported at 22,000 miles
Starting months ago whenver I fill my tank at the gas station, fuel overfills when full. It happens at every station now everytime. I can put the fill lever at a lower fill rate and it still happens. I have the fill nozzle in all the way or out half way or in between and it does not matter. It leaks out about 6 - 12 oz down the vehicle. The entire vehicle smells like gas everytime. Every time I fill up with gas, my 08 Jeep wrangler 2door will overfill. It doesn't matter what station I am at, or how much gas was in the tank previously. It will always spew about a cup of gas on the side of the vehicle and pavement upon filling.
