In owners' own words

Gas tank overflows when gas pump is left in automatic position. There has been a recall for my year and model of vehicle, but it's not within the manufacture date of the recall. There are many other Jeep wrangler owners with the exact same problem. I am a firefighter, so I do realize that this is a very serious safety issue that needs to be addressed as soon as possible. The manufacture date is 12/06. Fuel system, gasoline · reported at 44,487 miles
I recently purchased a 2007 Jeep wrangler 4x4 from a dealer. The past handful of times we have filled the vehicle with gas, gas has sprayed out all over the car, ground and myself. I am not topping off the vehicle - I am filling up to the point of when the pump automatically stops. This is not safe and I have seen numerous complaints of this same type. Something needs to be done to correct this. Fuel system, gasoline · reported at 21,500 miles
Filling the fuel tank till the pump nozzle shuts off automatically will result in a fuel spill. This condition has existing since new. Rate of occurrence is approximately 8 out of 10 fillings. Resulting spill is sufficient to wet the side of the vehicle, left end of rear bumper, and the ground below the fill port. Spill quantity estimated at approximately 8 - 10 ounces of fuel each occurrence. Fuel system, gasoline · reported at 1,000 miles
