The contacts owns a 2008 Infiniti G35. The contact stated that the air bag warning light remained illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, who discovered that the front passenger seat needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. When passenger sits in front seat, airbag deactivates. Infiniti diagnosed code as b1018 and wants $7k to replace seat cushion assembly. Infiniti refuses to acknowledge safety defect as part of their recall program by saying my vin is not affected. The passenger side airbag deactivates after sitting in front seat for about a minute. Infinity has a voluntary recall, nstsa #08v-521 for the passenger air bag occupant sensor (OCS) on 2008 infinity G35 with error code b1022. My car has error code b1018 with is the same issue and they will not replace the sensor. They want to charge me $7000 to replace the seat bottom. This should be covered under the recall.
