Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 GMC Yukon. The contact received notification of nhtsa campaign number: 16v383000 (air bags); however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The contact had not experienced a failure. I have contacted gm and the local dealerships for the past 4 years asking to have my airbags replaced in my 2008 GMC Yukon per the directive of nhtsa. Each time I have been told gm does not agree with nhtsa recall and gm refuses to replace dangerous airbags. I have emails and other messages from gm. I noticed recently they were ordered to replace all airbags. However gm stills says they do not agree. Any suggestions? Air bags
I am reporting that GMC will not replace the faulty air bags in my 2008 Yukon. I am the original owner, and have repeatedly taken the vehicle to the GMC dealer to have the air bag recall taken care of, but they have not done so. Now I am ready to sell the vehicle and am being told that the value of the vehicle is going to be less because of the open recall. This shows up on carfax. I seem to have no recourse.
