In owners' own words

I have a 2008 Dodge Avenger that a spring attached to the shifter broke on last night. It makes it so you cannot put the car into gear. There are people all over the internet with the same problem and my dealership said they are fixing 2 a day and it costs $400 for us to fix it! If there are that many people having problems they need to recall it, my car is only a couple years old, this is ridiculous! Power train
I drove my car to work and left it there for about 6 hours. I started the car as usual and it would not shift into any gear. After countless hours of trying to troubleshoot, I had to have it towed to the dealer. I went online and noticed there were hundreds of other consumers that had the same issue, but Dodge has not recalled the issue. The problem with the car was the gear shifter, which broke. I own a 2008 Dodge Avenger and it has the issue of getting stuck in the park gear. It's never happened until now and it constantly keeps happening now. I've read on forums where many more Dodge Avenger owners are having the some problem. If I can't move my car from park then I can't drive it anywhere. I've called Dodge in which they mention that there are no recalls, but I believe it a defect. Power train · reported at 59,898 miles
