Reading the numbers
Across the 22 model years of the Dodge Caravan in this data, 2007 draws comparatively few complaints; 1996 is the outlier year.
Filings have fallen off, 11 in the last three years against 27 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 62,000 miles.
In owners' own words
Vehicle sputters and stalls after filling tank with gas. This only happens when filling the tank full. It happens so frequently that we only fill up at gas stations that are off of side streets. That way when it stalls it's not in a main intersection. My mechanic said he has to replace the whole tank to fix the problem and said it's quite common. It's roughly $1000 in part's and labor. Vehicle hesitates and stalls immediately after a complete fill-up. This could cause a dangerous condition in heavy traffic. Similar symptoms to a 2005 chrysler town & country I had which was recalled for a defective fuel tank sensor. Fuel/propulsion system · reported at 165,000 miles
