I am only owner of this Toyota, it is garaged or has sun visors in place. I am experiencing the same cracked/cracking dash as others. There is absolutely no reason for this to occur. I too wonder what is going to happen if ever my air bags deploy. The cracking so far is on the passenger side dash. This started either in fall of 2012. Noticed hairline cracks in dash pad and related trim and the dash pad surface was becoming increasingly sticky to the touch. The glare of the sticky dash pad and the odor it emits...Leaving a residue on the inside of the windows. We no longer drive the car for fear of the air bags that in the dash pad not working as planned. New improved part # is 55401-aa060-e0. Structure · reported at 4,500 miles
My 2006 Toyota Camry Solara's dashboard is cracked and more cracks seem to appear out of nowhere. The vehicle is garaged and under shade during the day. It has been cracked for years and continues the same trend. I've seen other toyotas with cracked dashboards, there must be a service bulletin for this.
