Reading the numbers
Across the 5 model years of the Toyota Camry Solara in this data, 1999 draws comparatively few complaints; 2004 is the outlier year.
Filings have fallen off, 8 in the last three years against 16 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 95,815 miles.
In owners' own words
Air bag light has been looked at numerous times now that my regular warranty has expired, I had to look at my extended warranty for coverage and they do not replace air bag sensors. They supposedly fixed it at 30,000 miles but it reoccured at 45,000 miles. Now they say they will pay for the part but not the labor. Shouldn't this be paid by the manufacturer completely since it is a safety factor? Air bags
The contact owns a 1999 Toyota Camry Solara. While driving 35 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated. The failure recurred whenever the vehicle was operated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the vin was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 00e010000 (interior lighting). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. Air bags
Nothing happened yet, since I cannot know for sure if these are bad air bags since car was in accident and repaired with replacement air bags in past, so no way to find out unless Toyota pays to check them first and maybe replaced. Worried that replacement air bag are defective or dangerous no one is addressing this issue why??? My replacements need to be checked by serial number??? Air bags
