In owners' own words
Problem started with a small crack on my dashboard by the passenger airbag(outline of the airbag started cracking). After about a week the crack grew all the way to the windshield and now I have 2 cracks about a foot long each perpendicular to each other. Also another crack closer to the middle of the dashboard appeared about a week ago. That crack is about half the size of the cracks by the passenger airbag. Air bags · reported at 145,000 miles
The contact owns a 2006 Acura TL. While the vehicle was stationary, the dashboard on the passenger side (near the air bag) fractured from the windshield down to the glove compartment. A dealer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that it was a cosmetic concern. The side airbag turned on and when taken to the dealership they said that no codes were found. Apparently, the computer has a malfunction. I was told that since no code were found in the computer, then the manufacturer will not cover it under warranty. Currently I am dealing with the situation, because this is unacceptable to have a warning light on and not do anything to correct it. Air bags · reported at 14,000 miles
