The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who was not able to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but referred her to nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Sienna. The contact stated that when he opened the front driver side door there was a loud noise reminiscent of a firecracker. The failure recurred numerous times. He received information from Toyota stating that the welds were broken but he did not qualify for the extended warranty. The vehicle was not repaired.
