- The contact owns a 2003 Jeep Liberty. There was a recall for the lower ball joints. The dealer advised her that there were not enough parts to repair the vehicle, and placed her on a waiting list. She also spoke to the manufacturer, and there wasn't anything they could do to assist her. The current mileage was 68,000. The contact hasn't experienced any failures to date. *Ak updated 02/27/07/. I am the owner of a 2003 Jeep Liberty that is subject to ball joint recall (notification code f23. I have called georgetown Jeep of westport, ct on two occasions since 12/06 after receiving notice of recall. They have refused to give me an appointment to repair the problem. I understand that this is a safety issue that affects control of the vehicle. I am sending a copy of this complaint to the ct attorney general. Suspension
: The contact stated when a nhtsa recall letter# f23 for the suspension: front control arm: lower ball joint was received, the manufacturer was contacted. When the contact informed the manufacturer of the circumstances of being on an island, 800 miles away from the closest service dealer, the contact was informed that the use of an independent service dealer would not be approved for the recall repair.
