Nhtsa recall 04v386000 on the power steering fluid leakage. A few weeks after having the upper power steering cooler hose replaced, the consumer noticed that fluid was leaking. Also there was a loud knocking noise coming from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the problem. While turning left with the turn signal engaged, the steering wheel locked and failed to return back to the center. The consumer had to physically snatch the steering wheel to move it back. *Ak the consumer stated that a considerable amount of force was required to get the steering wheel to move back to the center position causing something to break internally in the steering column. *Tc Steering · reported at 61,000 miles
While driving and turning a loud squeaking noise was heard from the front. Consumer drove the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that steering pump/ rack and pinion, and hoses were replaced. Also, mechanic informed consumer that the vehicle was operating as designed. Consumer advised the mechanic that problem recurred, and had not been resolved. Steering
