Abs system activates while stopping at slow speeds, makes brake pedal shutter, abs makes noise. This causes the vehicle to not make a complete stop immediately. Vehicle has brand new brakes and rotors. Also all brake lines are badly corroded. Contacted Chevrolet in regards to the service brakes, hydraulic: antilock recall of 8/29/2005 for salt states #49552 - they indicate my vehicle is not in the recall??? The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and advised him that there were no current recalls. The failure mileage was approximately 119,400. The brake lines on my 2001 chevy Silverado 2500 crew cab have all rusted through brake rushed out and I was left without any brakes. Stopped truck with emergency brake and had it towed. What if I had killed someone is that worth the extra 40 dollars for stainless steel lines. Come on you are responsible for the publics safety. This problem is widespread.
