I own a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd truck. I have only 25,000 miles on this car. The speedometer has suddenly become erratic and does not display the correct speed of the vehicle. When I am traveling at very low speed (close to standing still) it displays 10 to 15 mph. At higher speeds it displays speeds that are much greater than the speed that the vehicle is really traveling at. Electrical system · reported at 25,000 miles
I have a 2005 chevy silverado with 46k miles on it and the speedometer failed. It intermittently starts at a random speed and sometimes sticks at max speed. I took to dealership and they said it would cost me around $500 to repair. I believe there is a history of stepper motor failures on this item for the last few years but they haven't recalled any of the 2005 or later models. Electrical system · reported at 46,000 miles
