Driving 35 mph, the vehicle would stall. This caused the driver to drift to the side of the road. The consumer was able to restart the vehicle. The consumer will contact the dealership about this issue. *La the dealer indicated that the engine was the problem and needed to be replaced. 1999 Dodge Intrepid stops on freeway with almost no warning, just the yellow caution light about 30 seconds before it stops and a noise from the engine. Checked the enginge and there was very little oil. Told the engine needed to be replaced at a cost ot 8,000. I had this car serviced 6,000 mi. Before at the dealer and filled with oil. Driving n on 59 s when vehicle made awful noise-pulled over and came to stop-called wrecker and took to dealer from whom car was purchased-engine had blown even though oil change had been done day before and on regular basis-had car less than 2 years-car needs new engine-would cost more than car is worth if I could even find a decent engine-company won't fix even though this is an apparent problem with this car- Engine and engine cooling · reported at 83,500 miles
