In owners' own words
I have a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina. A couple of weeks ago my car started to over heat. It became increasingly worst. The car was leaking coolant severely. I took the car in to the shop and was told it was the intake manifest gasket. I never knew how much this was a problem until I started to research this. It will cost be about 350.00 Dollars to have it fixed. I have also had to replace my water pump. Engine and engine cooling

Leaking intake manifold gasket on 3.1 V-6, 1999 Chevrolet Lumina, 54k mileage. Dealer estimates $1000 to repair. Internet sites list many cars with same problem. Gm needs to address this problem. Complete engine failure will be the result if I don't fix it - but why should I pay when Chevrolet didn't do their engineering correct on the gasket and coolant.
