The brake hose failed because of a design defect. The bracket that is part of the hose assembly causes a bend in the hose that forces the hose to contact the wheel wearing a hole in the hose. The replacement hose is designed to eliminate this bend. The right hose is designed the same way. Apparently, chrysler found this problem and corrected it but did not recall the defective parts. This vehicle from time of purchase will swerve side to side when the brakes are applied at speeds over 40 mph. You can't tell which way it will swerve on the sudden application of the brakes.
