Reading the numbers
Across the 24 model years of the Nissan Pathfinder in this data, 2024 draws comparatively few complaints; 2005 is the outlier year.
Filings are rising — 119 in the last three years against 4 in the three before. For a vehicle this age that usually points to a wear-related failure owners are hitting now.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 13,500 miles.
In owners' own words
I have had to replace my rear brake pads and machine rotors at 15k and 28k miles. Iâve never had to replace my front brakes- the issue is not my driving. I was told not to use my lane assist b/c it wears brakes and have t ever used. In addition the seatbelt warning dings while driving with no person nor anything on the seat. I have to pull off the freeway, turn the car off and restart it to stop the dinging. Service brakes
Very unusual and excessive rear brake pads and rotor decay, I was asked by dealership to replace brake pads and rotor just at 22000 miles, and then after replacing again they are asking to replace just after another 19000 miles. And the automatic brake sometimes gets scary, get too close to the front vehicle without reducing speed while driving in cruise control mode. Service brakes
Bought new 2024 Nissan Pathfinder, 20 months and 16,000 miles later I need new brakes and rotors. It was in for service at the 12 month / 10,000 mile mark and the rear brakes read 8/32nds. 8 months and 6,000 miles later my rear brakes are at 1/32nds and 2/32nds. I was told it was normal wear and tear. Service brakes
