Reading the numbers
Across the 8 model years of the Honda HR-V in this data, 2022 draws comparatively few complaints; 2023 is the outlier year.
Filings are rising — 93 in the last three years against 62 in the three before. For a vehicle this age that usually points to a wear-related failure owners are hitting now.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 10,000 miles.
In owners' own words
My front windshield broke from a heat stress crack from the top seal above the ADAS camera/driver assist module and runs down alongside the camera housing and then cracked all the way in front of driver's side above my steering wheel. The car was not moving and was just sitting in my carport. I have had problems with the ADAD system not functioning properly since I bought the car in 2022 from heat related issues. Visibility/wiper
Our 2022 HR-V continues to have a problem with the windows fogging up after driving a few miles. This happens when it is very cold outside. (Below freezing) I have also had two incidents when the inside of the front windshield has had a thin layer of ice and I have had to scrap the inside before being able to drive. The front brakes seem to grab when first applied when wet or iced. Visibility/wiper
Driving on the highway loud clunk heard and car started rattling. Pulled over to inspect underneath car and couldnât see anything. Brought it to the dealership and they confirmed the rear differential seized due to a bad seal causing a leak and both rear CV axels broke. Going over 55 mph causes vehicle to severely shake.
