In owners' own words
Pulling out onto road, heard a bang, no forward or backward, unable to move vehicle, brought to repair shop, says output shaft is sheared off, 68000 miles on it, looked on line, apparently common defect, my son in laws friend just had his happen getting off ramp exit, 80000 miles, Iâve read where low as 20000 miles, as well as 59000, 33000 ridiculous crap made in USAâ¦. Please help! No repair as of yet. Power train
We received a recall notice 4 weeks ago on our Chevrolet Silverado diesel truck. VIN:1GC4YPEY0LFXXXXXX. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Campaign 1D Number for this recall is 24V797. We can not get any answers from GM as to when it can be fixed. We use this truck for heavy towing constantly. We do not want to be in harms way. Can you help resolve this problem? Power train
The Transmission Oil Cooler line separated at the crimp joint from the rubber hose to metal pipe. This sprayed trans fluid all over my hot exhaust(fire risk) and caused and immediate loss of propulsion as I was accelerating to merge onto the highway. I was lucky enough to have multiple vehicles swerve to avoid hitting me. This defect left me on the side of the expressway. Power train
