In owners' own words

I was driving the car and noticed a smell. I looked down and saw the the temperature gauge was in the red zone but there were no dashboard lights or any sounds to let me know there was a problem . I pulled over and called AAA. They took the car to a AAA repair shop. The repair shop called me and said the head gasket was blown and that the car needed a new engine as the cost to repair would be even more money. Engine
10-26-19 Driving on hwy at 60 mph on sat. Night and I could tell the car had lost power to the engine. Coasted to an empty parking lot. Tried to crank. It would crank and then die. Lights still worked. There was a strong smell of gasoline when trying to crank. Had to have it towed 60 miles to home. Tried to crank the following day and smoke billowed out of the exhaust. Gasoline smell extremely strong. Engine · reported at 55,657 miles
Engine Control system warning came on without warning 2 days before we Took it to our local mechanic. He fixed it with a $2700 price. Told us the accutuator on bank #2 was bad. He ended up replacing several other parts including the timing chain. We got our van back, and 3 days later the ECS warning was back with a tick, & the engine light came on. I believe Kia has a real need to recall this issue. Engine
