In owners' own words
Veloster Hyundai's 7-speed dct contains a design defect in the transmission control module (TCM) that causes, among other problems, failure to shift, stalling, delayed acceleration, or loss of power. 'These conditions are hazardous because they severely affect the driver's ability to control the vehicle during normal driving conditions and prevent drivers from accelerating to maintain safe speeds in traffic,' Engine
The problem started with a ticking noise. I changed the oil hoping that this would resolve the issue but nothing changed. So, on the way home from running errands I hit the gas and the car made a bunch of loud noises and then stalled. It also began leaking oil. I removed the panel from underneath to see what happened and saw a bunch of aluminum fragments all over the panel. Engine · reported at 69,000 miles
When accelerating from a stop the car hesitates, then jumps forward, that hesitates again before accelerating normally. This is the usual behavior when accelerating from a stop, whether accelerating rapidly or smoothly. The behavior has always been present since the car was new. The dealer claims it is normal behavior but it is a behavior I've never experienced other cars. Engine · reported at 12,000 miles
