In owners' own words

I purchased this vehicle less than a year ago from a dealership, used. I noticed the oil consumption after the first few months was unreasonably high. I have to keep a large jug of oil in my car and add the oil at least every two weeks or so depending on the miles I drive. I noticed other Hyundai owners complain of the same issue and some being resolved. However, my VIN is showing no open recalls at the moment. Engine
On feb 18 2023 headed southbound on i75 I had my cruise control set at 70 and was cruiseing when I heard a loud hiss and seen smoke come from under the hood, I decreased speed and heard a loud bang and more smoke, when the vehicle stopped I stepped out and found all the oil from the engine on the ground under the car. After having it towed I looked under the car and found a large hole in the engine block. Engine
My son was on the expressway and vehicle started to slow down and would not accelerate. The check engine light came on. He pulled over and the engine died and would not restart. I had the car towed to a vehicle repair place and they found that the engine had thrown a rod and needs to be replaced. Vehicle has been well maintained and was in good shape. It was just purchased used from a dealer 05/03/21. Engine
