I was backing up in a parking lot when the backup camera suddenly inverted and I nearly ran over a small child. It now only works about 40% of the time and usually the image is inverted or scrambled. This is dangerous. I think Ford should fix it since apparently they have approved a recall on other models that apparently have the same camera system as my car. Back over prevention
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Taurus. The contacts stated that while reversing, the rearview camera image was distorted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 138,000. Backup camera fails to work. My Lincoln dealer confirmed but cameras are on back order. This camera is used in multiple Ford vechiles and recalls have been issued for some but not my 2016 Ford Taurus. Back over prevention
