While driving vehicle, engine began to rev and became unresponsive to gas pedal. After slowing to a stop, vehicle began to respond to gas pedal and transmission began shuttering violently. Took to local mechanic and he won’t work on it because he said it is a “pattern problem “. $250.00 to diagnose the obvious. Someone could be killed when the transmission suddenly stops working like that in freeway traffic. Power train

The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission clutch had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired.
