In owners' own words
My husband was driving 20-25 mph and heard a loud "boom" - then his engine compartment began smoking. We had the vehicle towed to the BMW dealership. A rod was thrown through the engine compartment and the engine needed to be replaced. We are the original owners of the vehicle and service it regularly. There were no leaks, noises, lights, nor any other indications of trouble prior to the engine blowing up. Engine
I have a BMW X5 and I received a recall notice, recall campaign 21V-907 (possibility of fire due to Exhaust gas recirculation cooler issue) 13 months ago. December 2021. BMW is telling me that they do not have the parts to fix this--13 months. THis is ridiculous. This is a FIRE hazard. What can be done? also your hotline does not work when dialed--- the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at: 1-888-327-4236 Engine
My vehicle has a faulty injector, shortly after got another recommendation to fix the exhaust gas nox sensor, this all happened within the recall I received for engine, engine cooling : exhaust system: emission control: gas recirculation valve ( egr valve ) did this trigger new problems for my car? It seems like the whole system is failing for a car that is only 4yrs old. Engine · reported at 78,830 miles
