Reading the numbers
Across the 16 model years of the GMC Acadia in this data, 2013 draws comparatively few complaints; 2008 is the outlier year.
Filings have fallen off, 21 in the last three years against 50 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 82,500 miles.
In owners' own words
The side blind zone detection system became defective, from defective modules damaged from the elements. This causes many electrical systems to become disabled and even disables the vehicle completely. There is a special warranty but only up to 80,000 miles. My vehicle is beyond that. It is still extremely dangerous for many gm customers and replacement parts and labor should be covered for all! Electrical system · reported at 110,000 miles
The contact owns a 2013 GMC Acadia. While driving approximately 5 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the dealer who stated that the failure was contributed to the faulty electrical system. The vehicle was currently being diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000. Electrical system · reported at 44,000 miles
The service side detection system has appeared in the dic due to water intrusion in the sensors. They were originally replaced per the tsb16-na-178 in april of 2019. The issue has since re-occurred 2/18/21 while driving, which jeopardizes my safety. I also understand that this may lead to additional electrical issues and may cause the vehicle to enter limp mode.
