The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. After parking the vehicle, the gear shifter would not switch into the park position. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the shift cable detached. An unknown dealer was contacted and stated that the failure was related to nhtsa campaign number: 19v293000 (power train); however, the parts were not available. The manufacturer was not notified. The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle failed to shift into second gear, and went from first to third gear. The vehicle was taken to cullman chrysler Dodge jeep ram (located at 300 benchmark way, cullman, al 35057, (256) 615-2563) where it was awaiting diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. Shift cable broke at 51000 miles when shifting from reverse to drive. Vehicle stuck in reverse. Occured while back out into traffic situation safety issue as it failed with no warning or indication of failure. Fortunate that it failed under these circumstances. Chrysler says that it is not part of power train and not covered by warranty. Cannot believe this is normal life expectancy of crucial control component. Power train · reported at 51,000 miles
