The contact owns a 2008 Hyundai Entourage. The contact stated that the rear sliding doors operated independently. The failure occurred without warning. Prestige auto mart (288 broadway, taunton, ma) was contacted, but stated that they do not repair doors. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Side slider doors no longer open manually using internal or external handles. Regardless of center pillar "power switch" setting above the mirror - the only way they open is using the key fob or the "open/close" switch also above the mirror. This is a very concerning human safety issue. In an accident situation - someone may not able to get out of the vehicle. Tsb-09-be-024 may be related. Structure
This the 2rd time my. Rear sliding door flew open while on highway with my grandkids in the car .Majority of the times the rear sliding doors will not open the buttons do not remotely open the sliding doors and the sliding doors get stuck .Its really dangerous because if my grandkids are back there a danger breaks out they are most likely not to survive .
