The contact owns a 2007 Lexus RX350. While driving approximately 5 mph, the low oil warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle was no longer operable. The vehicle was towed to the Lexus dealer where it was diagnosed that, due to the wrong engine oil cooling hose being installed, the part exploded and the motor needed to be replaced. Lost engine oil driving 20 minutes to work. Lexus dealer advised there is a common problem with the oil cooler line, there is a campaign within 10 years of first use. They won't replace it unless leaking; otherwise you are allowed to drive until the line blows causing catastrophic engine damage. A $60 part ends up being an engine replacement; nevermind the potential danger of an engine freeze at 65 miles an hour. Engine · reported at 118,000 miles
