In owners' own words

Automatic transmission shifter locked in park and would not move. Vehicle had to be towed to shop.Extended warranty company denied claim, saying that this was not part of the transmission. The dealer charged me $500.00 To replace the shifter. Dodge agreed to pay half, but I believe that this is an ongoing condition of these vehicles that the manufacturer should pay for the fix and not offer me half. Power train · reported at 45,067 miles
Drove the o store, put the car in park as usual. When I left the store and tried to shift into reverse but the shifter would not move. I called Dodge only to be told its not covered. I told them I was aware of how common this problem is and they told me too bad- its not under a recall so its your problem! I found over 300 similar cases online - how can it not be a recall!! 2007 Dodge Magnum transmission would not shift out of park. Aaa informed me this is an everyday occurrence with them. Repair for a small plastic replacement piece over $400. Dodge will not recall, why should they when they are able to get away with charging over $400 for this simple repair. Dodge would be foolish to recall when they are making over $400 for this repair.
