Filings have fallen off, 14 in the last three years against 18 in the three before. That is normal as a generation leaves the road.
The median odometer reading at the time of complaint was 52,000 miles.
In owners' own words
Fuel spill occurs every time tank is filled. When pump senses tank is full, it shuts off and moments later fuel spouts out of car from fill tube. This occurs even when filling slowly. In new york most stations are self service and require you hold the trigger of pump nozzle; one's hand (or worse) is frequently sprayed with fuel. Car was purchased in 12/10; this is on ongoing problem from day one. Fuel system, gasoline · reported at 25,000 miles
Our 2007 durango started having fuel spit back at about 40,000 miles. This happens every time a complete fill is performed. The spit back is a significant amount, spraying back out of the fill nozzle and running down the side of the vehicle onto the ground. A short time prior to the 1st occurrence of spit back the loose gas cap indicator illuminated, although the cap was verified as closed. Fuel system, gasoline · reported at 40,000 miles
When filling the tank on my 2007 durango 5.7L 4x4 the auto fuel shut off doesn't work resulting in a major fuel spill. This is an environmental concern as well as a thermal event hazard (fire hazard). Happens at all gas stations that I've used in the last 5 fill-ups. I now have to turn the electrical on to view the fuel gage on the dashboard and stop the delivery pump manually. Fuel system, gasoline · reported at 50,000 miles
