The contact owns a 2006 Pontiac Solstice. The contact stated that the service air bag warning indicator illuminated and remained illuminated. In addition, the passenger side air bag would independently activate even when the passenger seat was unoccupied. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. Pasenger presence module has failed 3 times. Each repair in excess of $1000. Car is low mileage and well maintained. Technician repairing the car indicated they believe it is a defective part. Dates of failure repair: 12/09/09, 12/05/12 and 10/19/16. Each time the same part and same diagnostic code failure. All serviced by gm service. Filed complaint with gm case # 8-2463003227 on 10/21/16. Relief denied. Air bags · reported at 39,000 miles
Same problem as stated by many Solstice customers...Air bag warning light for passenger side is constantly on...Certified dealer says passenger side air bag sensor is defective...This is a severe liability issue that can result in serious injury or death...Gm should announce an immediate recall to have this defect repaired before injury or death is caused by their negligence...Lawsuit waiting to happen.
